Sanitation & Recycling

The City of Americus contracts with an outside waste management company for solid waste collection. Per contract with Steve's Trash Service each residence is allowed up to the equivalence of 72 gallons worth of trash per week.

Most trash and debris, when properly bundled and/or contained properly, can be disposed of at curbside on your regular garbage service days. 

For questions specific to: start service, stop service, or billing, contact City Hall.

The City of Americus has its own recycling center, located behind City Hall.  For your convience you may drive in the alley up to the recycling building.  The City asks that you break down all boxes and rinse all containers. If you have questions for the city, please do not hesitate to contact us.
